A mandala to wish a Happy Christmas to all!
This year's Christmas design is reminiscent of the stained glass you get in English and Welsh cathedrals.

Jo Jo's Post

Glynderi Spring Mandala, copyright Jo Jo only of The Mandala Group, April 2010

Jo Jo says 'This mandala was done in the spring when my two Laburnum's were in full blossom and I had loads of Allium purple sensation out. At the centre are the wild Gladioli that I have in abundance. What joy!'

In Loving Memory of the Black Dog

The kind dog Molly's mandala, Copyright Shastina only of The Mandala Group, July 2011
This mandala is in loving memory of a black Labrador, who was full of fun, friendship and made everyone smile so much.  I have tried to express the essence of the joy in her nature, in the mandala and I've put in a black flower to represent her colour and maybe her early death as well. She was full of fun!

Every life's a circle

If life's a circle, then I wonder, whereabouts in the circle is everyone?  And if each life is a circle, how can we tell which pattern matches each one of us?

If every life is a circle then it's duration is predestined by the circumference of that circle. Then a mandala can be formed within this and the pattern within this becomes the essence of that life's mandala.  Although some die early and some die late, they all travel their own journey, circling the centre and within and around the varied pattern, unique to them.

If a loved one be taken away, be it a pet, such as a beloved dog or cat, or a friend or relative, is there any comfort in the thoughts ~ everyone lives out their own unique mandala, be it long or short and everyone has lived out their own circle and their own mandala, in their own time?

Tropical Day Mandala

Tropical Day Mandala, Copyright The Mandala Group April 2011

The Mandala Group would like to share their newest joint mandala on Mandalas in Memories.  It is the first of many offerings!

We made Tropical Day Mandala at a group meeting early in the year.  It's one most of us did as one group member was unable to be with us, so it's only been done by five of us, as there are six of us in the group in total.

Tropical Day mandala is so called as the palm trees and sunshine are intertwining with pinks and little bits of blue. And all in a colour scheme of warming colours,  upon the lotus flowers making patterns within themselves. The effects together make you think of a tropical beach somewhere...

Introducing the Mandala Group of England and Wales

Hello and Welcome! I would like to introduce the Mandala Group. We all live in the UK, on or around the borders between England and Wales. We, as a group, have occasional meetings when we create individual mandalas or joint ones. I plan to place on here all the loveliest ones we have done ever and in including some written words, explain the lights that inspire our creative times...
